Tuesday, 26.10. (Cologne Night)
Visibly matured after successful
tours through half of Europe, the
Cologne- Ehrenfeld export
Schlammpeitziger returns live to
home soil on Tuesday night. Jo
Zimmermann, master of the Casio-
sound and inventor of the strangest
song titles imaginable, is back.
After a couple of odd jobs (like a
remix for Depeche Mode!), a Best-
of-Schlammpeitziger release, and
gigs at various British, German,
Belgian and other festivals, he
recently released another new

album: "Everything without all
inclusive" (sonig).There are few
contemporary electronic artists who
cultivate such a unique personal
style as Jo Zimmermann from
Cologne does. When you see him
live for the first time, you might
think you're seeing a wacko - like
when he's wearing his sparkling
"disco-helmet" or having a tete-a-
tete with his monitor. But all the
while he's got a very smart sound,
lots of humor, and combines
enormous pop appeal with radical
deepness. Schlammpeitziger is

"Space Age Music" for today's ears,
"Homerecording for the masses!"
(Rolling Stone). Further info at:
www.schlammpeitziger.com.
Accompanying Schlammpeitziger
this evening is Cologne DJ Olaf
Karnik. The ex-Spex editor, author
and music critic (Neue Zürcher
Zeitung, Intro, Radio WDR 3) is an
avant-garde aficionado and reggae
fan, and he will make sure that
Cologne Night really earns its
name.

The Cologne video artist Uli Göken provides the appropriate visual mood.
